Factually was founded by Theo Savov - an EU-based software engineer & founder. It all started in November 2024 as a reaction to the widespread misinformation campaigns around the last US elections. Personal Protection
Have I Been Pwned allows you to check whether your personal data such as email address or password have been exposed in a data breach. Nothing is stored, and even if it was, nothing particularly useful whould come of it. The service collects and analyzes hundreds of database dumps and pastes containing information about billions of leaked accounts, and allows users to search for their own information by entering their username or email address. Users can also sign up to be notified if their email address appears in future dumps.
The vast majority of services are completely free, including personal email address searches for breaches and stealer logs, notifications for personal email addresses and domains, most domain searches and all searches of Pwned Passwords. Only searches of larger domains, searches for domains in stealer logs and using the API to search through breaches require a paid subscription.

The Center for Responsive Politics (the Center) is a Washington-based non-profit, non-partisan organization that collects, analyzes, and publishes millions of financial records concerning campaign contributions. Its OpenSecrets.org website shows campaign contributions by major industries, corporations, top individual donors, and advocacy organizations to every candidate in every federal election, and to every member of Congress. Based on this information, the Center develops reports and data visualizations that demonstrate who funds campaigns, who benefits from contributions, and how these donations affect legislative action.
